Detailed Solution

The people of the Weimar Republic lose confidence in the democratic parliamentary system completely. Inherent flaws in the Weimar Republic's foundation led to its instability and susceptibility to authoritarianism. This made it nearly impossible for any party to win a majority, which paved the way for coalition governments. The most serious flaw was Article 48, which gave the President the authority to declare an emergency, suspend civil liberties, and exercise executive authority. The Weimar Republic employed Article 48 liberally and had 20 different cabinets, each of which lasted an average of 239 days.
