Garibaldi met Mazzini in 1833.
In 1833 Mazzini met the famous Italian freedom fighter Giuseppe Garibaldi. Garibaldi’s contribution to the unification of Italy was remarkable. He was an Italian General and considered one of the greatest generals. To achieve the goal of the unification of Italy, Garibaldi allied himself with the monarchist Cavour and the Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia for the unification of Italy and the struggle for independence. Furthermore, Giuseppe Garibaldi started a riot apart from regular troops, and numerous armed volunteers joined this riot under Garibaldi. Finally, after all the struggle, was the next step of the unification of Italy. Hence he united northern & southern Italy, completing the unification process of the nation.
