Mahatma Gandhi organised the depressed class association.
The All India Depressed Classes Association was founded to unite underprivileged classes and communities. The majority of them came from so-called untouchable groups and the lower castes. Due to their poverty, lack of options, and unequal treatment, they were the victims of inequality in society. The organisation was established to raise awareness and fight for their rights. Dr B R Ambedkar founded it. This organisation was founded in 1930. Dr B R Ambedkar continuously fought for the betterment of “Harijans” or Dalits. He even clashed with Mahatma Gandhi during the Second round table conference for demanding a separate electorate for Dalits.
