Detailed Solution

Plantation workers often chant "Swatantra Bharat" to show their allegiance to the freedom movement.
They were quite involved in the movement as well. They had their interpretations of Mahatma Gandhi and the idea of swaraj. For Assamese plantation labourers, freedom meant the ability to enter and exit the small area in which they were housed at will and maintain ties to the village from where they had initially come, which had been made difficult by the Inland Emigration Act of 1859. Thousands of employees disobeyed the government, abandoned the plantations, and returned home after learning about the Non-Cooperation Movement. The Congress program did not specify the goals of these movements. Instead, they assigned different meanings to the word "swaraj," interpreting it as the end of all sorrow and difficulties.
