Detailed Solution

The Cheras ruled over Central Asia and North-West India around 2000 years ago. One of the earliest Tamil dynasties was the Chera dynasty. Along with the Pandyas and the Cholas, they were members of the mighty Dravidian triad that ruled South India. The Malabar coast, Karur, Coimbatore, and Salem regions in South India were all included in the Chera kingdom's domain. Their capital city was Vanji. During the Cheras' rule, trade and commerce were at its peak. Their main source of income came from marine trade, which included the sale of rare jewels and pearls to the Middle East, along with textiles like muslin and silk, as well as spices like saffron and cardamom.
