Detailed Solution

Mahatma Gandhi said that “English education had enslaved us.”
Mahatma Gandhi attacked the spread of European education. He said, “English education had enslaved us.” He argued that Indians had been caged in a notion where they looked down on Indian culture. They have been imprisoned by the fact that western culture is superior to Indian culture. The thoughts of the west have enslaved Indians. They admired western education and destroyed the self-respect of Indians. Hence, attacking the Britishers, Gandhi opined for an education that could revive the self-respect and dignity of the Indians.
