Guru Angad started compiling the teachings and compositions of Baba Guru Nanak.
Guru Nanak declared Lehna as his successor, who came to be known as Guru Angad. He started compiling the compositions of Baba Guru Nanak. He also added his compositions in a new script known as Gurmukhi. Later, Guru Arjan compiled the compositions of three successors of Guru Angad, who wrote under the name of "Nanak". Writing of other influential figures like- Sant Kabir, Shaikh Farid, Bhagat Namdev, and Guru Tegh Bahadur was also included. Guru Gobind Singh authenticated the compilation in 1706 and is now known as the Guru Granth Sahib.
