Detailed Solution

Alluri Sitaram Raju started the Militant Guerrilla Movement. The fierce guerrilla campaign was led by Alluri Sitaram Raju, a Gandhi admirer. The colonial administration had banned large parts of woodland to prevent locals from entering the forest to graze their animals or collect firewood and fruit. This infuriated the hill people since it jeopardised their livelihood and traditional rights. The hill people revolted when the government introduced obligatory labour for road construction. The rebels hailed Raju as an incarnation of God because he could make accurate astrological predictions and heal people. Gudem insurgents raided police stations, attempted assassinations of British officials, and engaged in guerilla warfare in their pursuit of Swaraj.
