Detailed Solution

M.R. Jayakar strongly opposed the compromise between Congress and Muslim League in the All Parties Conference.
In 1927, Congress and the Muslim League attempted to renegotiate their association. One of the Muslim League leaders, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, was willing to drop the demand for separate electorates if Muslims were guaranteed reserved seats in the Central Assembly and representation in the Muslim-dominated provinces (Bengal and Punjab). The All Parties Conference in 1928 attempted to settle the representation dispute through negotiations, but all hope was lost when M.R. Jayakar of the Hindu Mahasabha strongly resisted compromise efforts.
