Humayun was the son of Babur, who succeeded as the next ruler of the Mughal Empire. Babur was the founder of the Mughal empire. Babur ruled Delhi for four years from 1526 to 1530. After his death, Humayun started to rule in two different periods namely, 1530-45 and 1555-56. Initially, he was defeated by Sher Khan at Chausa in 1539 and Kanauj in 1540 forcing him to flee to Iran.
