Ibn Batuta travelled to Kerala less than seven hundred years ago.
Muslim Berber-Moroccan explorer and scholar Ibn Battuta. In the Old World, he travelled extensively. He travelled for thirty years in China, the Iberian Peninsula, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia. He arrived in India when the Delhi Sultanate was in power. The prince who moved the capital of the Delhi Sultanate from Delhi to Daulatabad was the king of India at the time. In 1334, he arrived in India. Ibn Battuta travelled over the Afghan mountains to reach India in 1334, under the reign of the Tughlaq dynasty.
