Detailed Solution

Aryabhatta was an Astronomer and Mathematician.
Aryabhatta was one of the popular mathematicians and astronomers during the 6th century CE. He was also the court poet of Chandragupta II and wrote a well-known book in Sanskrit known as Aryabhatiyam. He explained why day and night exist and said that the earth's rotation on its axis is what causes them. As an astronomer, he also developed the explanation for lunar and solar eclipses. As a distinguished mathematician, he found a way of calculating the circumference of a circle and invented the symbol for zero. This shows that there was huge talent in the Indian subcontinent, and Ancient India's calculations are as accurate as the formulae we use today.
