Detailed Solution

Minhaj-i-Siraj was a chronicler from the Persian region. He belonged to the period of the 13th century and is known for his writing on the Indian subcontinent. Occasionally he used the terms like Hindustan which is very much different from what we understand by this term. In the 13th century, he wrote a chronicler which has the word Hindustan and he meant by it the areas of Punjab, Haryana and the lands between Ganga and Yamuna. The context of him using this word was to indicate the political extent of the rulers of the Delhi Sultan. And it also became clear that this term would never include the regions of South India as the Delhi Sultan's domination did not extend to the far south.
