Detailed Solution

Muvendar was the chief.
Muvendar translates to "three chiefs." It refers to the heads of the Chola, Chera, and Pandya royal families, who rose to prominence in south India about 2300 years ago. These chiefs did not gather regular taxes. Instead, they sought and got gifts from the public. Additionally, they carried out military raids and gathered tribute from surrounding territories. They divided the remaining money among their ardent followers, which included their family members, soldiers, and poets, while keeping some of it for themselves. Many Sangam poets wrote eulogies for the chiefs who would frequently honour them with rich cloth, horses, elephants, chariots, and precious stones.
