Detailed Solution

General Dyer was responsible for killing many innocent people at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar. The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre took place on April 13, 1919. Before this massacre, hundreds of people gathered together in the Jallianwala Bagh to protest against the unjust laws of the British government, and some came for the Baisakhi fair. The bagh was an enclosed ground with some gates. The people of the villages who came from outside of the city for the Baisakhi fair were unaware that martial law was imposed in the city. General Dyer closed At the gates of the Bagh, he ordered open fire on the crowd, and hundreds were killed. Later, he said that it was to "produce a moral effect"—to create the feeling of fear and terror.
