Detailed Solution

General Reginald Dyer was responsible for the Jallianwaala Bagh incident. On April 13, 1919, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre occurred in Amritsar. The Rowlatt Act allowed the British government to detain individuals without a court hearing. This Act was used to justify the arrest of Dr Saifuddin Kitchlu and Satyapal, which caused great worry in Punjab. On April 13, 1919, a public gathering took place at Jallianwala Bagh (park). Thousands of people, including women and children, assembled for this meeting. British soldiers opened fire heavily and randomly under General Dyer's orders. In this atrocity, more than 1600 people died. This terrible event motivated people to struggle for freedom.
