Detailed Solution

The first astronaut to walk on the Moon was Neil Armstrong. He did this on July 20, 1969, during NASA’s Apollo 11 mission. As he stepped onto the Moon’s surface, he said the famous words, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Buzz Aldrin joined him shortly after, while Michael Collins stayed in orbit around the Moon. Their mission proved that humans could travel to another world and return safely. The Apollo 11 landing remains one of the greatest achievements in human history and inspired generations of scientists and explorers.
