Detailed Solution

Napoleon was the first emperor of France.
Napoleon Bonaparte was crowned Emperor of France in 1804. He began to conquer adjacent European countries, deposing monarchies and establishing kingdoms in which he could settle his family members. Napoleon considered himself a European moderniser. He introduced various laws, including protecting personal property and the decimal system's standardised system of weights and measures. Many people first considered Napoleon as a reformer who would bring them freedom. However, the Napoleonic troops quickly gained a reputation for being an invading force. In 1815, he was finally defeated at Waterloo. Nevertheless, many of Napoleon's actions, which spread revolutionary notions of liberty and current laws throughout Europe, had a lasting impact on people.
