Detailed Solution

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was India's First Home Minister. He rose to prominence as India's first deputy prime minister and as one of the most senior leaders of the Indian Congress. During the Indian National Movement, he was instrumental in maintaining national unity. He was in charge of bringing together a democratic, self-governing India with 562 separate republics. Except for Hyderabad, Junagarh, and Kashmir, by August 15, 1947, all of India's provinces had joined. He was likewise opposed to the creation of states based on linguistic differences. As a result, he played a significant role before and after the country's independence.
