Detailed Solution

Aurangzeb was the last influential ruler of the powerful Mughal empire. He established his monopoly over a substantial portion of the area referred to as India. Many mosques were built by Aurangzeb, who is well known for his work on them. He is renowned for his Arabic calligraphy creations as well. After his death, many subahdars (Mughal governors) and large zamindars started consolidating their power and introducing their regional kingdoms in 1707. In various parts of India, these little kingdoms grew to be strongholds. As a result, Delhi could no longer serve as a productive centre. The British were established as a new force in India by the second half of the eighteenth century.
