Detailed Solution

King Gyanendra was the last king of Nepal. He was the last ruler of the Shah Dynasty in Nepal and the last monarch of the country. His residence was the Narayanhiti Palace, Kathmandu, Nepal. A popular movement for the establishment of democracy was highly propagated by the masses, who defied the authority of the monarch and demanded a democratic government. The first Constituent Assembly of Nepal abolished the monarchy on the 28th of May, 2008.
