Detailed Solution

One of Magadha's most powerful kings was Bimbisara. Two incredibly powerful monarchs of Magadha, Bimbisara and Ajatasattu, used every legal tactic to subdue the other Janapadas. Mahapadma Nanda was a significant leader as well. He extended his area of influence to the northwest of the subcontinent. For a spell, Rajagriha, which is now Rajgir in Bihar, served as Magadha's capital. The new capital was then changed to Pataliputra (present-day Patna). He is recognised for his cultural achievements and served as Buddha's personal friend and protector. Bimbisara built the Rajagriha city, which is so well-known in Buddhist literature. He was followed to the throne by his son Ajatashatru, who murdered him to seize power.
