Detailed Solution

Firoz Shah Tughlaq was the successor of Muhammad bin Tughlaq. Following the death of his cousin Muhammad bin Tughlaq at Thatta in Sindh, where he had gone in search of Taghi, the ruler of Gujarat, Muhammad bin Tughlaq was replaced by his cousin. When he became Sultan of Delhi in 1351, he was 42 years old. He held power until 1388. After Muhammad Tughlaq's death, when he succeeded him, he had to deal with numerous uprisings, including those in Bengal, Gujarat, and Warangal. Nevertheless, he tried to upgrade the empire's infrastructure by constructing canals, hospitals, and rest stops and building and renovating reservoirs and drilling wells.
