Detailed Solution

Firoz Shah Tughlaq was the successor of Muhammad bin Tughlaq. From 1351 to 1388, Sultan Firoz Shah Tughlaq, a member of the Tughlaq dynasty, ruled the Sultanate of Delhi. Following the death of his cousin Muhammad bin Tughlaq at Thatta in Sindh, where he had gone in search of Taghi, the ruler of Gujarat, Muhammad bin Tughlaq was replaced by his cousin. For the first time in the Delhi Sultanate's history, a situation arose in which no one was willing to take the throne. The camp followers had a difficult time persuading Firoz to take on the duty. His reign was substantially smaller than Muhammad's due to considerable instability. Rebellions compelled Firoz Tughlaq to grant Bengal and other regions virtual freedom.
