Detailed Solution

The Satavahana dynasty was the successor of the Mauryans in the Deccan region. A new kingdom called Satavahana emerged in the Deccan region following the collapse of the Mauryan Empire around the mid-1st century BC. The Satavahanas sometimes referred to as the Andhras, dominated Andhra and the Deccan for approximately 400 years. Simukha established the Satavahana dynasty in the year 235 BC. His reign lasted 23 years. Kanha, his successor, expanded the region up to Nasik. Satakarni I took control of western Malwa. Ashwamedha and Rajasuya yajnas were performed by Satakarni I.
