Whites were considered as superior under the apartheid system.
Apartheid means racial discrimination. It was an ideology in which the people who are ‘black’ or darker in colour are considered inferior to the ‘whites’. Such a discriminatory system was state-sponsored, as the ‘whites’ were the rulers of the country. The ‘black’ and ‘coloured’ people were not granted voting rights, nor were they allowed to mingle with the ‘whites’. The non-white South Africans faced this discrimination at basic levels of life under the minority rule of the ‘whites’. It was a horrible consequence of colonial rule over South Africa.
