Detailed Solution

Iqtadars or Muqtis were the titles granted to the military leaders who received land concessions. To uphold law and order in their iqtas was the responsibility of the Iqtadar or Muqti. They received compensation for their tasks as payment for their services. From the money they made, they also paid the soldiers. For a brief period, these muqtis were given iqtas in order to keep control. The term "muqti" refers to military leaders who were designated as iqta landowners or governors of variously sized regions. It was their responsibility to oversee military operations and uphold law and order in their iqtas. The muqti's only duty was to collect the peasant's tax; he was not permitted to collect any other fees; if he did, the sultan would revoke his authority.
