Detailed Solution

Moors were the muslim merchants.
During the Middle Ages, Christian Europeans originally used the exonym Moor to refer to the Muslim populations of the Maghreb, the Iberian Peninsula, Sicily, and Malta.
In addition to Muslim Europeans, Arabs and North African Berbers were also given the name by Europeans during the Middle Ages and the early Modern era. The Portuguese introduced the terms "Ceylon Moors" and "Indian Moors" during the colonial era, and the Bengali Muslims were also referred to as Moors. The Berber tribes of the area were referred to as Mauri in the Classics; this term was later translated as "Moors" in English and comparable forms in other European languages.
