Detailed Solution

Ibn Battuta wrote the book ‘Rihala’. He chronicled his lifetime of travel and exploration, which, in his calculation, covered around 70,000 kilometres, in a masterpiece with the formal title A Masterpiece to Those Who Contemplate the Wonders of Cities and the Marvels of Traveling. A journey is referred to as a rihla in Arabic, as the travelogue details it. Ibn Battuta and his crew crossed the Indus River on September 12, 1333. From there, he travelled to Delhi and met the ruler, Muhammad ibn Tughluq. Due to his extensive studies at Mecca, Ibn Battuta was appointed by the Sultan as a qadi or judge.
