Pushyamitra Sung defeated Brihadratha before founding the Sunga Dynasty. They crushed the emperor during an army parade, and Pushyamitra was the last king of Mauryas and army Brahmin chief of Brihadartha. Patliputra was known as the capital of Pushyamitra’s Sunga dynasty. It is believed that he was a follower of Brahmanism and discouraged Buddhist culture, but no proof was found that he was a destroyer of Buddhism. There were several effects of the Sunga rule; One of them is that the Sanskrit language gained more importance at that time.
