Detailed Solution

Concept: A switch is a component of an electrical circuit that can connect or disconnect conductive paths by blocking or regulating the flow of electrons through the circuit. In other words. It can create or break circuits.
When the switch contacts are bridged, the switch creates a closed path for current to flow, and when the contacts are separated, the switch cuts off the conductive path in the circuit to stop the current flow. The switch typically has two functions: on and off. Considering the following circuit, which consists of a battery and a light bulb that powers the circuit, the current state of the switch keeps the circuit open and the light bulb stays OFF, so when the switch is open, the circuit has NO current to flow. However, when the switch is closed, the gap is filled and a complete conductive path is formed, creating a potential difference across the conductive path and turning the bulb ON.
Question ImageThis is because there is no voltage until the neutral wire is connected to the live wire. Therefore, it is advisable to stop the hot feed.
Precautions-
One must not make any contact with a switch with wet hands.
Do not put your finger etc. in the hole of the outlet.
Keep metal objects away from the switch.
Never use anything or any device with a cord or plug near water.
Do not unplug the switch by pulling it with the cable.
Hence, the correct option is 3.
