Detailed Solution

People used cave shelters as habitation sites for shelter.
Habitation sites are locations where individuals have resided, either temporarily or permanently. They might be built homes or perhaps a cave or rock shelter. People preferred these caves because they offered protection from the wind, rain, and heat. E.g., Bhimbetka (in the present-day state of Madhya Pradesh) and Chirand (in present-day Bihar). The "Bhimbetka rock shelters" display the earliest signs of human habitation in India. Its 9,000-year-old stone age rock drawings are found there. These rock paintings somewhat reveal the lives and activities of the individuals who lived in these shelters. The first humans preferred natural caves because they offered protection from the elements (rain, heat, wind). The Vindhyas and the Deccan plateau are home to numerous natural caves and rock shelters.
