Detailed Solution

The white regime decided to change its policies as protests and struggles increased.
The anti-apartheid struggle led by the blacks, the coloured, and the Indians started in 1950. They organized themselves in association and led protests and marches. The African National Congress (ANC) led the movements. They are also associated with communist elements. Several countries across the world recognized apartheid as unjust and racist. The whites soon realized the popular struggle and believed they couldn't keep blacks under their control. So they decided to change the policies. They banned the political parties, repealed discriminatory laws, and removed restrictions on the media. The political prisoners were set free.
