3. Industry trends – High job demand in IT, AI, and electronics drives more students toward CSE/ECE, increasing cutoffs for these branches.
4. Performance levels – If board exam marks are higher across the board, cutoffs rise proportionally.

For example, in years when IT sector hiring is strong, cutoffs for CSE and ECE surge. Conversely, when fewer applicants choose Mechanical or Civil, their cutoffs stabilize or drop slightly.
