Detailed Solution

We need standard units in measurements for reliability, accuracy and consistency.
Measurement should be consistent across the board for proper dealing. To increase the reliability and accuracy of our judgment, we need a common measurement unit. For example, ancient people used the foot, the footstep, the handspan, or the arm (cubit) to measure length. But these measurement methods vary from person to person, and these units of measurement are unreliable. So a universal unit of measurement became the basic need for measuring anything. Such units are called standard units. Standard units are accepted by all countries and do not change from person to person.
