Detailed Solution

Sun appears orange-reddish in colour because of the scattering of light. Inside the visible range of light, red light has scattered the minimum by atmospheric gas molecules. So at sunrise and sunset, when the sunlight moves a long path through the atmosphere to get to our eyes, the blue light has been mostly removed from the atmosphere, leaving primarily red and yellow light persisting. This results in the sunlight taking an orange or red cast, which we can see as a beautiful sunset or sunrise reflected from clouds or other objects.
