Detailed Solution

Cattle dung and firewood are the most common resources used for energy generation in rural India. This is because most rural people in India live on agriculture-based activities and cattle raising, which is why rural areas are full of cows, buffalos, goats, and sheep, so plenty of cattle dung is available. In addition, they are used as fireplaces and fuel for cooking food in domestic hearths known as "chulhas." However, the burning of cattle dung emits lots of smoke and causes air pollution. So instead, they can be used as biogas.
