Detailed Solution

An electrical fuse is required for all electrical appliances to protect the circuit from excessive current.
A fuse is a small piece of wire connected in series with electrical appliances. This wire is chosen to melt when excess current passes through the electrical appliance. When an electrical appliance passes through an excessive current, the appliance can also be permanently damaged. As the current in series remains the same, the fuse wire melts and breaks the circuit, protecting the appliance from damage. In order to protect the appliance, an electrical fuse is therefore required for all electrical appliances.
