It is difficult to amend the federal features of the Indian Constitution because amendments should be passed by both houses of the Parliament.
It is difficult to amend those features of the Constitution of India which are federal in nature because such amendments need to be passed by both the Houses (the Lok Sabha, the lower house and the Rajya Sabha, the upper house) of the Parliament by at least a two-thirds majority. In addition, it must be ratified and passed by half of the state legislatures for it to be considered as passed. This makes it very hard to make an amendment, but it is possible. It can be done with the complete help and support of the States.
