Why is Muzaffarpur called the “Land of Litchi”?

• Geographical Indication (GI) Tag: In recognition of its unique quality and origin, the “Shahi Litchi of Bihar” (primarily from Muzaffarpur) was granted the Geographical Indication (GI) tag. This tag legally protects its reputation and prevents others from duplicating it.
