Why it is not recommended to touch water metal pipelines and electric wires during thunderstorms?

Electric wires and metal pipes are good conductors of heat and electricity and they carry charges. Therefore during a thunderstorm, the probability of getting an electric shock for touching these objects becomes more, so we should avoid contact with the electrical wires and metal pipes in a thunderstorm.
