Why was the capital moved from Agra to Delhi under Shah Jahan?

Shah Jahan moved the Mughal capital from Agra to Delhi in 1638 CE for political and strategic reasons:

• Symbol of power: By building a new capital, Shahjahanabad, Shah Jahan aimed to showcase the strength and prosperity of the Mughal Empire.

• Cultural vision: Delhi held historical prestige as the seat of earlier empires (Delhi Sultanate), and Shah Jahan wanted to revive it as the heart of Mughal rule.
