Lahore Congress session was important because Poorna Swaraj was declared in this session. On November 26th, 1929, the demand for 'Poorna Swaraj', or full Independence of India, was formalised under the presidency of Jawaharlal Nehru in the Lahore Congress Session. Finally, on January 26th, 1930, the Indians, encouraged by the Indian National Congress, celebrated Independence Day, took an oath, and pledged complete independence. During this session, the Congress leaders decided to fight for Poorna Swaraj and realised that they should rule themselves independently and under no foreign rule. The Congress approved the motion of Poorna Swaraj, and the President of the Congress party hoisted the flag in the presence of a huge crowd on the banks of the river Ravi. That is why the Lahore Congress Session was important.
