Detailed Solution

The non-Cooperation movement was called off by Gandhi due to the Chauri-Chaura violent incident.
The mass movement of Non-Cooperation reached its culminating point with the emergence of violent actions in the different parts of the Nation. The peaceful, non-violent mass movement soon turned to the other side. Gandhi’s idea of Satyagraha was not perceived by everyone similarly. People chose their methods of protest. One violence event in Chauri Chaura, in Gorakhpur, made Gandhi withdraw from the movement. At Chauri Chaura, a peaceful demonstration turned violent, and a clash occurred between people and the police. The people set fire to the police station at midnight. After this event, Gandhi decided to withdraw from the non-cooperation movement.
