The supporters of the Weimar Republic were targeted so easily because they were weak. The Weimar Republic replaced the rule of the king after the First World War. The Weimer Republic consisted of the democrats, the socialists and the Catholics. It was held responsible for the actions of the old regime. The humiliating treaty was imposed on Germany, and the Weimar Republic was held liable to compensate for the war losses. So they become easy targets in the circles of conservatives and nationalists. They were also regarded as November Criminals. Moreover, they also faced opposition as they were unable to curb the losses during the Great Depression. This enraged the people, and thus, they opposed the Weimar Republic.
