Detailed Solution

Karl Marx believed that workers had to construct a socialist society. According to Marx, the industrial society was "capitalist." Workers produced the profit for capitalists, who owned the capital used to build industries. As long as private capitalists were able to amass enormous wealth, working conditions could not change. The private property system and capitalism have to be overthrown by the working class. Marx held that workers needed to create a truly socialist society where all property was collectively managed in order to be freed from capitalist exploitation. This society would be communist. He believed that when workers and capitalists battled, the workers would win. According to Marx, the future society that made the most sense was a communist one.
