  • Lymph is a colourless fluid.
  • RBC, platelets and large plasma proteins are absent.
  • It has more CO2 and less amount of O2 and nutrients.
  • Lymph is formed at interstitial spaces of a tissue.
  • At arteriole end, water, solutes and low molecular weight proteins filter into interstitial space from blood. In that most quantity returns to blood. The remaining small quantity of fluid flows through lymph capillaries, lymph vessels and lymph ducts. It is called “lymph”.
  • Lymphatic system is a accessory root for merging of remaining ECF into blood.
