Detailed Solution

The characters of the story of Manimekalai were the Daughter of Kovalan and Madhavi, Manimekalai, and Chola prince Udayakumara.
The Tamil-Buddhist epic Maimkalai, also spelled Manimekhalai or Manimekalai, was written by Kulavika Seethalai Sataar in the sixth century. It is an "anti-love narrative," a continuation of the "love story" in the first Tamil epic Silappadikaram, featuring some of its original protagonists and their offspring. There are 4,861 lines in the epic's akaval metre. The daughter of Kovalan and Madhavi, who follows in her mother's career as a dancer and Buddhist nun, is also known by the name Manimekalai. The Chola prince Udayakumara is drawn to her because of her physical beauty and artistic prowess. He is after her. She is a nun who practises Mahayana Buddhism and feels compelled to cut all links with people. Despite turning off his approaches, she can't help but be pulled to him.
