(a) Zone refining: it is the method for refining metals. It works on the principle that impurities are more soluble in molten state than in the solid state.

(b) Froth floatation process: It is the method to concentrate the ore. It works on the principle that sulphide ores get wet with oil and become light in weight. When froth is created, they go into the froth. Ore is collected from the top from froth and gangue settled down in the bottom.

(c) It is a method of separating the substances. It is based on the principle that the mixture applied on the stationary phase get separated from each other using a mobile phase.
