The first phase of translation is aminoacylation of tRNA. Post transcriptional modification includes 5' capping and 3' tailing of hnRNA. Splicing is also required in the primary transcripts to remove the introns. It is the fully processed hnRNA, now called mRNA, that is transported out of the nucleus for translation
